SUN VALLEY REALTORS® GIVE COMMUNITY HOUSING FUND

Creating housing opportunities for Blaine County’s essential workers.  

With every real estate transaction, the Sun Valley REALTORS Give Community Housing Fund encourages all buyers, sellers, Realtors and brokers to designate proceeds or a portion of their commission to fund workforce housing for essential workers in Blaine County, Idaho. 

ABOUT THE FUND

The meteoric rise in housing prices has been devastating for many in our community and has created extreme housing insecurity never before witnessed in the Sun Valley area. 

With concern about the rapidly changing character of Sun Valley, Ketchum, Hailey, Bellevue, Carey, and communities beyond, and the inability for essential employees to afford stable, secure housing, Sun Valley REALTORS Give created the Community Housing Fund. With every real estate transaction, the Community Housing Fund encourages all agents, buyers and sellers to designate proceeds or a portion of their commission to fund workforce housing for essential workers in Blaine County.

With a $10,000 gift from the Sun Valley Board of Realtors and an anonymous $25,000 donation, the Community Housing Fund was created in January 2024. 

Before launching the program, the Community Housing Fund raised over $110,000 from Founding Donors, Ambassadors of the Fund and Friends of the Fund. Fundraising will continue through 2024 and beyond with the Closings with a Cause program. At the closing table, we ask buyers, sellers, Realtors and brokers to contribute to non-profit entities creating workforce housing for essential workers in Blaine County. Grants will also provide housing assistance by bridging the gap in a buyer’s down payment, buying down an interest rate to make a loan more affordable, or contributing towards closing costs.

    The Community Housing Fund is an opportunity for realtors, buyers, and sellers to give back to the greater Sun Valley community at each closing to help bridge the gap between what a home now costs in our community and what our local essential workers can afford. The Community Housing Fund pools donations to maximize impact on the housing problem that affects every household, organization, and employer in our community.

  • Designate Your Gift

    By teaming with non-profit entities who share the goals of Sun Valley REALTORS Give, every gift to the Community Housing Fund supports the creation of essential worker housing in Blaine County.  

    Sun Valley REALTORS Gives Community Housing Fund has teamed with Blaine County Charitable Fund to financially advance the purchase of homes by essential workers in the greater Sun Valley area. SVRG’s Closings with a Cause program raises funds for contribution to BCCF’s Down Payment Assistance Program. The program provides workforce housing assistance by bridging the gap in a buyer’s down payment, buying down interest rates to make a loan more affordable, or contributing towards closing costs. The program makes grants to qualified, full-time essential employees, so they can live, play, and thrive in or near the community where they work.

    Sun Valley REALTORS Give's Veteran Housing Fund provides a range of assistance to promote sustainable housing solutions for Blaine County Veterans and their families. For over twenty years, this program has provided Veterans with support in rent, down payment assistance, moving expenses, rental search, adapting homes for disabilities, and major home repairs.
